model-matchmaker is a local helper designed to work with Cursor and Claude Code. It directs your prompts to the correct model tier so you don’t pay high prices unnecessarily when renaming files. This app runs on your Windows PC and manages prompt routing automatically. You get faster responses at a lower cost without needing to understand complex settings.

• Windows 10 or later (64-bit recommended)
• 2 GB of free disk space
• 4 GB RAM minimum
• Internet connection (only for downloading and updates)
• Admin rights to install software

model-matchmaker works best on systems with at least a quad-core processor. Make sure your Windows is updated for the smoothest experience.

🚀 Getting Started

Follow these steps to get model-matchmaker running on your Windows computer.

1. Download the software

Visit the releases page to download the latest version of model-matchmaker:

• Click the green button labeled as the latest release.
• Download the .exe setup file for Windows.
• The filename will usually start with model-matchmaker-.

If you see multiple files, choose the one marked as "Windows Installer" or ending in .exe.

2. Run the installer

• Open your Downloads folder.
• Double-click the downloaded .exe file to start the installer.
• A prompt may appear asking for permission. Click Yes to allow the installation.
• Follow the instructions on screen:
  • Accept the license agreement.
  • Choose the install location (default is usually fine).
  • Click Install.

Wait for the installation to complete. This process typically takes less than a minute.

3. Launch model-matchmaker

• After installation, find the model-matchmaker icon on your Desktop or in your Start Menu.
• Double-click the icon to open the app.
• The first time you launch it, the app may ask for permission to run or update configuration files. Allow these.

4. Use model-matchmaker with your favorite tools

model-matchmaker works behind the scenes with Cursor and Claude Code. Once installed, it automatically routes your file rename prompts to the right model tier.

• Open Cursor or Claude Code as you normally would.
• When you rename files or send prompts, model-matchmaker directs those commands efficiently.
• There is no extra setup needed once the app is running.

⚙️ Configuration and Settings

model-matchmaker is designed for simplicity. Most users do not need to change any settings.

However, if you want to check or adjust options:

• Open model-matchmaker.
• Click the Settings button.
• Here you can:
  • Enable or disable automatic routing.
  • Customize which model tiers receive your prompts.
  • View logs for troubleshooting.

Changes you make are saved automatically.

🔄 Updating model-matchmaker

To keep the app running smoothly and securely, check regularly for updates:
